Salt Water Mouth Rinse
Dec 13, 2019

Hey, Guys, it’s Emily here from MiaThrives!

At a recent dentist appointment, this hack was recommended to me to help prevent gum disease. People living with EB have a slightly higher risk of developing gum disease because of the constant sores in our mouths. Using a salt water rinse daily helps to both prevent gum disease and heal EB related trauma in the mouth.

You can watch the full video here (or down below).

Salt Water Rinse:

  • ½ a teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • Swish in mouth for 10-20 seconds

Positive Points To Note From Use:

  • Inhibits dental bacteria
  • Salt has healing properties
  • Soothes and heals mouth sores

We would love to hear from you if this is something you’ve tried and it works for you! Also, feel free to let us know if you have any other EB Hacks!

We used knee pads to protect the skin on my knees. I started wearing them when I was around six months old and learning to crawl, and I continued to wear them growing up in school.
