Peer Bereavement Support Group

Grief is the internal thoughts and feelings we experience when someone we have grown attached to dies or is gone. Dealing with the death of a loved one is a holistic experience that can impact us physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Everyone grieves uniquely and there is no timeline to grieving. Grief can originate from death related losses and/or non-death related losses. We as human beings experience grief by virtue of being human. When someone we love dies, we grieve their loss. Many different life experiences can affect how we handle the loss.

MiaThrives would like to offer individuals who have EB and/or the families and friends of those who had EB who have died, (who feel like they are ready to be vulnerable in front of others) a confidential and safe space to process their grief experience in the form of peer support.

The hope is that we can offer you tools that help make your grief journey a little easier. Some resources include:

  • Mindfulness
  • Mindful Self-Compassion
  • Positive Neuroplasticity
  • Mindful Journaling etc.

Facilitators of this group are either trained peer hospice volunteers, social workers or have training and experience in the area of peer support.

If you feel like you could use this form of support please use the form below to register.
