EB Wound Healing Hack
Apr 24, 2020

Hey Guys, it’s Emily here from MiaThrives!

Today I am going to talk about a hack that I first heard about from my friend Deanna. Deanna was one of the Kaleidoscope artists (click here to view her story.) She has RDEB and used this hack to heal a chronic wound. The reason I thought this would be a good hack to share for the EB community is that it has worked for different subtypes of EB. I have a milder form of DDEB and have also had success with this hack.

Frankincense

It is often known as the magic essential oil for skin! It has many qualities that benefit sensitive skin. Below is a list of a few,

  • Reduces redness and swelling
  • Can help reduce itchiness
  • Help heal wounds and acne
  • Even out skin tone
  • Helps improve cellular function

How it is used

Frankincense is an oil that can be applied directly to the skin. As an alternative, you can mix it with a cream or base such as shea butter or coconut oil. Click here for the product on amazon. You can also find it at your local health food store.

We would love to hear from you if this is something you’ve tried and it works for you! Also, feel free to let us know if you have any other EB Hacks!

We used knee pads to protect the skin on my knees. I started wearing them when I was around six months old and learning to crawl, and I continued to wear them growing up in school.
