Rachel has RDEB that has caused her fingers to fuse together but that hasn’t stopped her from doing many things including cooking. She is currently in culinary school and through trial and error has found methods of cutting that work for her.
You can watch the full video here (or down below).
Knife Set– Key points, lightweight & has a point on the end that can make it easily wedged into a bandage or elastic band. *Tip apply pressure on both sides of the knife so it doesn’t wiggle around.
Single Knife– Key points, miniatures cut well and are easy to use & hold.
Peeler– Key points, doesn’t need too much pressure to use.
Chopper– Key points, the easiest to use if you don’t want to slide anything into your bandages or if hands are extra sore. *Tip hold container against the stomach. *Lids are easy to remove.
Rachel was interviewed on the MiaThrives Podcast where she shares more about culinary school, her hobbies, and her incredibly full life. Not to mention an amazing organization Befriend EB. Click here to listen to the podcast.
