EB Mom Hacks for Bath time!
Feb 03, 2022

Hey guys, it’s Emily here from MiaThrives!

I have been settling into life as a new mom and am excited to bring some new hacks from my experience being a mom with DDEB. I am figuring things out as I go along sharing what has worked for me and other tips and tricks from the EB community.

Baby bath time!

One of the new challenges for me was figuring out how to comfortably give my son a bath. When he was small enough I would fill his baby tub with water and carry it into his bedroom. I would then sit on the floor on a foam mat and not have to lean over the bathtub. This was easier when someone was home and could carry the water since it is very heavy!

Since my son outgrew the baby bath the setup that has been working well for me is sitting on a short stool with a pad over the side of the tub. My elbows are a sensitive area and this helps protect them and make bath time more comfortable for me too.

I take a bath every other day and it helps settle my skin, clears infections, and is one of my favorite ways to relax! Towards the end of my bath, I will call for my husband to come to hand me the baby and give him a bath and hand him back, it has been the quick and easiest way. However, I am glad I now have a good backup for when I am alone.

I ordered the foam mat for the seat and tub from Amazon.

We would love to hear from you if you tried any of these hacks or have any hacks you would like to share with the EB community!

We used knee pads to protect the skin on my knees. I started wearing them when I was around six months old and learning to crawl, and I continued to wear them growing up in school.
